An underground research facility in kahoots with a terrorist organization has been experimenting with dangerous slipgate technology for months now, you infiltrated to stop them, but they managed to catch you. They managed to wrestle away all but your trusty axe before they threw you in their holding area, waiting to be executed. Fortunately, by some cosmic coincidence, this was when their experiment went haywire. Unstable inter dimensional anomalies began popping up all over the effected area causing structural damage and interdimensional aliens to begin pouring in, infecting the staff and breaking open your cell. Stop the experiment and save the world!

This is my first map! Very Half-Life inspired, if it wasn't blatantly obvious. I've been sitting on it for a while and figured it was time to finally release it. I was planning on multiple difficulties and deathmatch spawns and all that stuff but I never really got around to it, maybe in a future update, but for now I've been told it's pretty tough so be prepared! It's only compatible right now with Copper v1.19, newer versions break it. However the QuakeC is entirely unmodified, things like automatic monster infighting were entirely done using some trickery with triggers which I'm pretty proud of.

Quake acrobatics such as bhopping, RJing, etc. are encouraged and taken into account in the design, although I'd love to see some tricks I hadn't thought of crop up. Please post your times and feel free to send me demos, I'd love to see how you guys tackle the level.

Texture WADs used : prototype.wad by Aleksander "Khreathor" Marhall, q1tech1sml.wad, jf_obtex.wad by Metlslime, mytextures.wad by me!, QUAKE101.wad by id software, and lq_liquidsky by the LibreQuake team.

Special thanks to my friends Ashley, Estifanos, and Vivi (@orioel on Twitter, 18+) for testing the map. Appreciate ya'll.

Tested in QuakeSpasm and FTE.

Great adventure. Loved the cute & inventive brushwork, the warp residue, the keys assigned to access levels. The bit where the whole corridor falls away and into a warp crack was epic!

A few issues: I found the office ceiling grate secret, but the health remained stuck up there and didn't fall down as expected. The blood environment was great fun, but the last phase of the gauntlet challenge was unfair — cheesing it by positioning myself on the top ledge before they arrived was the only way to do it, but it felt like cheating. A good Vore battle usually involves multiple obstacles the player can dart behind to lose the projectiles.

The final battle had a fantastic sense of urgency to it, really exhilerating and climactic. A bit of dramatic lighting could have helped the ambience, and I guess it would have been nice to see the effects of having destroyed the thing — instead it just sits there with the shield back up which feels a bit anticlimactic lol.

Great work though, very impressive for a first map. Can't wait to see what you get up to next!
As a big fan of breakout scenarios, I can of course only give 5 stars here. The red part with the waves wasn't quite my taste, but the rest was great. Thank you very much.
