Heya, Happy new year!

This map is for Copper 1.30

This was my result of my desire to try to make a map for a new year 2024. Map is runic and metal themed multi-floor compact layout map designed to work well in both single player and deathmatch settings.

On hard difficulty the combat can be quite slaughter so be warned.

Contains .bsp .lit .map .txt files.

Spent around 7 hours to get it done for Jan 1st release!

The map is unusually small for a Mazu map :) I didn't expect that. It felt like more like an MP map. But I actually liked the tricky cramped layout. All in all it was short but fun experience. On Easy it felt player-friendly, and searching for secrets was the main pleasure for me personally

Solid layout with tons of interconnectedness and verticality, enjoyable combat that keeps you on your toes. This is what quake is all about, the only thing you could potentially criticize is how vanilla it is at times but that's made up for the fact of how expertly crafted it is.

Thanks for the good start to 2024!
Not as other Mazu maps with hundreds of monsters and countless secrets, a nice slaughterfeast I enjoyed. Too simple on easy, I'll give this a try on normal. Secrets 3/6 in first attempt, and the 4th I saw but couldn't manage the jump.

Excellent way to kick off 2024. This map is just good clean fun. I'm proud of my no-death 100% blind play, in ~12+ minutes. Definitely has replay value as well.
Very fun tightly designed encounters complimented by Copper, with a satisfying vertical progression, allows for both frantic and more reserved gameplay, and as h4724 mentioned, with deathmatch in mind, multiple ways of reaching one area. A semi open runic map that has distinct zones is hard to pull off but this really works.

Really fun high-pressure encounters in an open-ended layout. The extended anxiety of hearing a lot of knights spawn and not knowing where they are is almost unmatched. The multiple potential routes make it great for repeated playthroughs as well as, I imagine, speedrunning and deathmatch. Great way to start the year!

Fun romp. It's an army but not an army+hours long hell march (which I enjoy, 37th relic retrieval is awesome, but I appreciate tighter shorter maps).

Probably a step up on difficulty than you would expect, my normal run felt more like hard. I'll be going back for more.

I cannot begin to sufficiently describe how amazingly fun and engaging this map is. After nearly a year of finding zero joy in this game, my enthusiasm for Quake maps has returned.

Thank you, Mazu. We joke about you being a legend, but it's honestly true.
