Are you familiar with PlamliX's work? The Dead Room from sinister625 most prominent though he's recently done a spiritual successor for the Quake 2 N64 jam called The Dead Zone. I get very similar vibes here, though... maybe less foreboding? More? I can't tell which is a good sign.
The Dead Room (though I encourage you to play it blind)
The Dead Zone (same deal, you need the Quake 2 Remaster)
There's also a map in 1x1 for Doom, map 13 Ether Rain that goes similar places. I'm not overly fond of 1x1, some maps are interesting combat puzzles but a lot just devolve into slaughter maps. However Ether Rain is almost entirely a puzzle map. Not quite the same as your release or even PalmliX's stuff. But the tone... the tone is very similar.
I only found a single play through (which unfortunately has a guy talking over it ruining the tone) but I'd encourage you to boot it up and just poke at the first few puzzles.
Ether Rain (unfortunately a bunch of yapping)
https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/139086-1x1-mbf21-final-release/ 1x1. This map specifically *requires* DSDA doom and does not work in gzdoom as it uses a couple of the more esoteric features of the MBF21 standard. DSDA can be found here
https://www.doomworld.com/vb/thread/141111 There's a level select in the options menu.
In any case, good show. I guess I need to go check out Ruth White now. The tracks you used remind me of the Drive By remix of Poe's "Hey Pretty" from 2001.
The narrator is quoting from the book, "House of Leaves," which, if you're familiar with MyHouse.wad, is very very similar and is why I couldn't really enjoy MyHouse.
