This is the first level I ever released on the internet.
This is the original bsp, warts and all, no bugs fixed.
Should be playable in any engine.
  1. Extract the file czg01.bsp to your quake/id1/maps folder.
  2. Run Quake, pull down the console and enter map czg01 to play.
Not much of a story here. It's just some rooms and corridors and fullbright outdoor areas connected together. It's all rather amateurish and janky, not really worth playing imho, but it has some charm. The lighting is really something else (than good).

It is an okay map, and I'm sure the mapper will improve a lot in the future with his newest "Honey" beeing all the buzz lately. This one still looks decent. Encounters here are fairly tame. It still usually put you against more enemies than you'd find in most base maps from Id. On the other hand, being a base map and relying on the limited repertoire of base enemies from the original campaign, albeit with the addition of some fiends on the base's outskirts, interesting encounters will usually come from map gimmicks and enemy positioning, and this doesn't provide even in hard mode.

The platforming section to get around the malfunctioning door was the nicest touch in the map.
