Brutic

Really great design and fluid gameplay this was really enjoyable for me :)
A great map in its own right that becomes even greater when you consider that this is a debut work. No frills, just great architecture with exciting battles. Only the last fight didn't trigger correctly for me because I was too careful.
It's a good map by any standards, but a genuinely great map for a first offering. Doesn't try to do anything too extravagant and sticks to a simple—but well-thought-out—layout with fun combat.

A mapper I'll be keeping an eye out for going forward for sure.
Really enjoyed this, pretty blocky/brutalist castle architecture with a simple flow, nothing wrong with that. Enemy setups used the architecture well for the most part, there is one part where the enemies looked like they drowned, one of the few nitpicks honestly. I think the easy secrets are fine but I can definitely get behind harder secrets, think the hardest one to spot other than the unmarked (and most fun one to get!) pentagram on the top of the map was the "e1m2 quad" style secret. Eager to see more.
This is awesome! Great layout, fun encounters and secrets, and a cool ending.

These are stock textures? I never knew, looks fantastic.
Very fun and solid map, especially for a first release. Looking forward to more Quake goodness by Daivuk.
Well done, this is really fun. Looks fine, plays good.

Maybe secrets are very easy to find, yes. I found 6/6, but couldn't grab the pentagram. Also, I had a 42 enemies count (having played skill 0, as mostly), but kills only 40.

So I'll give this some days, and try it again, on skill 1.

Recommended (on nightmare, for all other players, of cause :devilish: )
Fun little quick map. Skill 2, all kills, 5/6 secrets (
I'm guessing one secret might require a rocket jump? idk
)

Liked: I loved the consistent, careful, and tasteful use of the blue metal id1 textures. Map looks great, if a bit too bright. The brushwork looks nice, and I can tell the mapper took their time and effort to get what they wanted. Combat was fun, and I liked the use of fiends and knights and occasional enforcers and grunts. Overall, fun, somewhat easy map.

Didn't like: I'm a fan of easy-to-find secrets, but in this case most of the secrets were a bit *too* easy, imo. There were a few which less observant players will miss, but still. I didn't like the one part where the door closed behind me, just in principle. And the footing in the water area could have been made flat and more shallow.

Overall, I quite enjoyed this. I'll definitely keep an eye out for more maps from this mapper!
