Seismic Ventures

Now this is more like it! Using the level layout as an enemy. I never got hurt much by pit bulls before, so that's a first.

All righty, setting for big pixels and 8-bit color, away we go...

I'm already noticing some "old school" choices with back-spawning and multiple underlift secrets. Spicy.

Played the first 3 levels on Hard. First-rate stuff. Great to see classic-style Quake gameplay and how strong the custom content community still is in talent, if not in numbers. You guys are rock stars (y)

Really curious if I'm missing something in the secret level or if progression has broken...

I've opened the "cages" on two buttons in the library and pressed those buttons. The remaining two cages need the silver+gold keys which I don't have.

I see a raised plat; looks like I need to find a way to lower it, but I don't see how.

No other way to exit the area.

Check the red glass shelf thingys where the knights were hiding

Yeah, I almost missed that too and was chasing my tail a bit - the 2 all-red elements in the bookcase shelves where the keys are hidden. It's probably the first secret level I found and actually completed in a Quake custom map. I'm almost finished with the episode and only have the last map. I'll write a review when done. Good stuff.

In Spootnik's map, I always have one monster missing at the end and it's always a Death Knight lingering close to where the Invis secret is. The issue is that I'm not sure when he spawns as he's not there when I'm closeby, so I basically have to jump through the portal close to the end and hunt him down if I want 100%.

EDIT: As here:

I love the episode up until the initial fight in the last map, which I just gave up on, so won't finish it. Of course, I'm glad that I got a bunch of maps that I really like, but I honestly find it quite annoying with maps/episodes that suddenly ups the difficulty x100, so you can't finish what you started.

Same. I really enjoyed it until then but since I got my money's worth up to the last map, I still gave it 4/5 stars in my review. Intense difficulty ramps like this are just too much and feel like a bad joke being played on us (though I know that's not the case). There's a recent ice map of a pack I attempted where you had to get the last key at the end of a series of about 5-7 jumping pillars. Just doing the jumping platform bit above the abyss is terrifying enough. So what happens when I get that key and start to jump back? A 100 scrags come a'calling to kill lil ole me precariously perched at the top of a pillar lol I ragequit then and there...

Secret level library: I've found the silver key, but I can't find the gold key even with a few minutes of noclip. (I think I'm using the original version btw, missed the update.
