HLQuake - Gordon Freeman takes on a new assignment as the Ranger

This is the second alpha of HLQuake. It contains a fully functional gravity gun that can pick up and launch objects like boxes, gibs, and grenades as well as pull in ammo health, keys, and armor. All ammo spawns in breakable boxes that can be used as projectiles, and secret doors are replaced by descructable walls! This is an early version of the mod, which is in active development. It will feature more aspects of the Half Life universe and bespoke maps built for the new mechanics introduced...

I always wonder about people creativity and Quake engine flexibility. How many features from different games created years after Quake was released, is easily (or not?) implemented/realized in this old engine.
 
Nolatron updated HLQuake with a new update entry:

HLQuake Version 1.0!

Hi all! This update features a HLQ's first bespoke map! While it is also compatible with vanilla Quake, I made it with HLQ first in mind. There are also some major bug fixes:
  • no more disappearing items when holding them with the gravity gun
  • ammo boxes & health now trigger events properly even when grabbed with the gravity gun

An interesting concept. But it's not clear why sharlaf's balls can't be caught with a gravity cannon? By the way, grenades caught by a gravity cannon fly back along a parabola, as from a standard grenade launcher, but should fly back in a straight line.
