This small debut Quake map offers an intense and immersive experience within a dark and ominous environment. Players will journey through a perilous dungeon teeming with lava, metal, and stone structures, along with eerie torch-lit corridors. The ominous glow of lava running along the border of the level and the subtle smoke enhance the atmosphere, casting haunting shadows across the desolate hallways.

Thank you, Tralfamadorian, for your review! I'm glad that you enjoyed the map.
Solid enough map. The back tracking felt a little odd, and I had already grabbed the quad. I liked the atmosphere, but there seemed to be a strong contrasting light repeated a lot on a surface. the end fight arena looks nice but doesn't play particularly well. More complexity in the set ups would be great. Wouldn't have minded more of a challenge on skill 3

Thank you, Hypermasculine, for playing my map and writing a review. I appreciate your feedback! I will do my best to improve the gameplay and lighting in my next map. Although I haven't created a nightmare mode for this one, technically you've played it on hard. I will make sure to include one in future maps to create a more challenging experience for top-tier players. Cheers!
A map that is based on [progs_dump] and is kept quite small. The enemies are manageable and can be dealt with quite quickly. Here you can hear a nice music track that really fits the level design! The architecture is unusually beautiful and detailed. I was personally impressed by the lighting effects and the lava-covered platform interludes at the beginning made me want to explore the inner rooms straight away. A very nice little map, which I hope will perhaps be used in a follow-up map by the author. I would definitely like to see it!

Hi and thank you for the review Custom Longplay!

I appreciate that you share your experience with playing this small map. Your enjoyment of the music,
architecture and lighting makes me happy and encourages me to create more.

I have not only received awesome feedback from players, I got educated as well. For instance today I received personal instruction and a tutorial by Spootnik on how to improve my mapping skills, in particular the trimming.

The amount of constructive feedback, appreciation and support I have received from the community is amazing. In the last couple of weeks I have made new friends with the same interests and I am being motivated to use and improve my talents in this creative hobby. I am very thankful for this.
Lots of cool ideas in this, and overall the lighting and mood hits right.
Gameplay suffers from areas being overscaled in just a few places, and aesthetics "suffer" from lack of trim work, but the brushwork is smart, creative, and tasteful.

I especially found
the large room where you get the key to be oversized, and without having abundant nails, it was a little frustrating to need to get close to enemies to use the GL and SG/SSG effectively.

These critiques are pretty small though, and I hope are taken as constructive feedback because I liked the map and its ideas. And I think with more experience and practice, Inectha will put out some nice stuff. So keep it up!

I especially liked the idea at the end with
the bridge that progressively spawns monsters on either side.
A really cool idea for a final arena kind of thing.

Thanks for the feedback, Spootnik! It's fantastic to hear that you enjoyed the atmosphere and lighting of the map. Your insights into areas for improvement in gameplay and aesthetics are greatly appreciated.

Your positive comments about the creative concepts, such as the progressive monster-spawning and brushwork, are really encouraging. I'll definitely take your critiques as constructive advice and aim to enhance those aspects in future maps.

Looking forward to sharing some more refined creations with you soon!
imho, this is a very dark, doomy, gloomy, atmospheric map and it keeps what is promised. Well done! What a nice snack before my supper.

Unfortunately it's really short for such good stuff. Is it also a promise for more? I would really enjoy ....

Thank you Ludicrous, for playing my map and writing a review!

It is incredibly gratifying for me to hear that you enjoyed playing my creation. I have a deep appreciation for dark ambient themes in various forms of media, and I'm thrilled that the atmospheric tone I aimed for resonated with you. I also want to express my gratitude to Immorpher for providing the haunting music that added to the immersive experience of the map.

Choosing to keep the map small was a deliberate decision on my part. I wanted to ensure that I could manage the creation process effectively from start to finish and deliver an experience that would leave a lasting impression. As a newcomer to map-making, I recognize the potential for getting lost or making mistakes along the way. However, the positive feedback I've received, including your review, serves as a tremendous encouragement for me to continue honing my skills and creating more maps in the future.

I'm excited to share that I'm already considering ideas for a second map, one that will seamlessly connect to the world I've established with this debut release. The journey into the perilous infernal depths will indeed continue, and I look forward to sharing that adventure with you and other players.

Thank you once again for your support and feedback. It truly means a lot to me as I embark on this creative journey.
Hi there, just played your map. Very foreboding athmosphere. the music makes it even more creepy. i liked the overall usage of the textures and the layout. Was able to find one of the secrets. I found the final area a little tricky to navigate as i was not able to hear the demons spawning in...in the area i tried to go back but the teleport wasnt working...I ran out of shotgun ammo i think 3 times, but this might be due to my terrible skill. The first demon right at the start killed me a couple of times im ashamed to say :D.

I look forward to playing more of your maps.

Hi radhsar,

Thanks a lot for taking the time to play my map and for sharing your feedback! I'm thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the atmosphere and the overall design.

I appreciate your thoughts on the final area's navigation and the difficulty with hearing the demons spawn. I'll definitely take that into consideration for future maps to ensure a smoother experience for players.

Don't worry about running out of shotgun ammo or getting taken out by the first demon – I've been there! I'm glad you had some fun with it.

I'm thinking about maybe making a second map in a similar style, like a E1M2. But we will see.
Thanks again for playing, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on future maps.

Cheers!
First of all, congratulations on your first release. It's always great when creative people come around with new maps so I have something to play. Many thanks for that.

I liked the map very much, unfortunately I found it very easy on skill 2. For my taste it could use more monsters to give the great architecture more exciting fights. Killing Knights with enough room to move backwards isn´t so much fun. I found the secret, but at a time were it was useless for me. Besides that, its a wonderfull first realease. I liked the lava jumping part at the beginning. Not hard, but adds to the atmoshpere. Looking forward to your next map.

Thank you for your review Cpt.Gonzo. That means much to me! Your feedback is appreciated and useful for a next release of this map.
The level is well done, except for the flashing texture on the elevator at the platform with the hell knight. But there are too many extra files in the archive. It is better not to include your development files and unnecessary music tracks that are not used in the archive, because it takes up too much space.
