My goodness, if I had to describe this mod in one word, it would be breathtaking. With some of the largest and most intricate maps I've ever seen in any mod ever, this mod easily offers dozens of hours of content, which is surprising considering the fact it is lacking a beginning two episodes, in addition to it ending in a cliffhanger teasing more to come. The multitude of weapons, wands, staves, and swords you get means there's a plethora of means to kill enemies and wipe out hordes, and it is a blast. While the third episode is more traditional Quake, it stands out with its hard emphasis on medieval fantasy, a theme that fuels the aesthetic and atmosphere throughout the mod. But come episode four, the size of the maps and the level of detail lead one really to believe they are exploring a full, fleshed-out world, with the levels truly interconnecting and leading from one to the other. You'd think that the grand scale of the mod would lead to overly labrynthine and confusing maps, but the frequency of how the map loops back into itself means you frequently stumble upon familiar sights. There's also plenty of shortcuts to be unlocked in each level, making backtracking a breeze.
Calling this mod the greatest Quake mod may be an overstatement, as it does require a lot from the player (even I, myself, tend to prefer short to average length levels), but it certainly deserves to be considered in the conversation of most groundbreaking and well-designed mods of all time. In my opinion, it would be a crime to rate this mod any lower than-
