Work in Progress: What are you mapping?

I'm currently relighting Contract Revoked as a lighting exercise, only occasionally adding additional light fixtures.

(I don't have any intention of releasing this publicly.)

More progress on my current level! Finally getting something that I feel satisfied with! At the moment, I'm concerned about the lighting and tone, along with the enemies and items.

I've just recently evolved from Doombuilder to Trenchbroom, and I'm remaking my first map Labyrinth in Quake. So much better as I can put rooms above and beneath other rooms. It's quite a simple map so far, technically my first Quake map. I am a beginner but I am picking it up fast. It may look simple, but it's becoming more complex and expansive day by day. As for the textures - I plan to add more variety once I'm further along in the layout itself.

Back in the day, the work I did tinkering with Quake eventually became it's own mod called SquishQuake. I did my own level design, created textures, graphics, sound effects and models. The game code was modified to tweak the function of the weapons For example, grenades don't explode on their target. They always bounce, you need plan for where they'll land. They also throw shrapnel! Some of the weapons have been replaced with entirely new ones. The monsters come after you with the same weapons yours! It's intended for advanced players looking for a new challenge. One of the other things I added was random entity spawning. This allows for infinite replayablity. You never know what you're walking into. Sometimes it's a walk in the park, other times it's desparate and harrowing survival, just as you might get annihilated within seconds! 💀Good times!! 😁
