I thought I'd post this & see if anyone was interested in sharing what kind of music they like to map to. So, what music drives you, inspires you & gets you pumped to map for Quake?

I'll start off with a list of what works for me:

When I map for Quake, I listen to multiple types of music. I usually like to map to Alice In Chains, Portishead, Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill stuff), "Il bandito messicano" (from Red Dead Revolver soundtrack), Apulanta, "Rebel Yell" (by Billy Idol), "Choke" (by Broken Image), Bush, "96 Quite Bitter Beings" (by cKy), Creed (yes, I know they're hated, but I love that band), "Gush" (by Creepy Crawl), "Loser" (by Beck), "For What It's Worth" (by Buffalo Springfield), Deftones, Depeche Mode (Personal Jesus being my personal favorite), "We Care A Lot" (by Faith No More), Through The Eyes album (by FLAW), "Hey Man Nice Shot" (by Filter), "Tomorrow's Light" (by From Zero), "Superman" (by Goldfinger), The Fragile album (by NIN), "I Know" (by Helmet), "What I Am" (by Eddie Brickell & The New Bohemians), "Sunny Came Home" (by Shawn Colvin), "Fell Through Autumn" (by Inkling), "Fly" (by Juice), "Let Go" (by Kosheen), "My Way" (by Limp Bizkit), "Bound For The Floor" (by Local H), Marcy Playground, "Down Under" (by Men At Work), "Shed The Skin" (by Mindset), "Shook Ones P1" (by Mobb Deep), Groove Bus album (by Monkeynut), "Trigger Hippie" (by Morcheeba), "Smokewood" (by Nullset), "Stupid" (by Oleander), "Youth of the Nation" (by P.O.D.), "Clean My Wounds" (by Corrosion of Conformity), "I Don't Care Anymore" (by Phil Collins), Tonight The Stars Revolt album (by Powerman 5000), "The Mission" (by Puscifer), "Front of the Line" (by Sev), "Vulgarian" (by Silver Spoon), "Underwater Love (extended edit)" (by Smoke City), Sneaker Pimps, "Back to Life" (by Soul II Soul), ""Mudshovel" (by Staind), "SAP" (by Stepa), Soundgarden, "Shout" (by Tears For Tears), "Middle of Nowhere" (by The Blank Theory), "California Dreamin" (by The Mamas & The Papas), "Juicy" (by The Notorious B.I.G.), "One" (by Three Dog Night), "Possum Kingdom" (by Toadies), "Africa" (by Toto), Watercolor album (by Ultra Blue), "Nothing" (by Unloco), "Floater" (by Waldeck), Hikou-ki Gumo album (by Yumi Arai: for when I'm up late nights mapping), "Kita No Yado Kara" (by Yoshio Kimura & Royal Sounds Orchestra: another choice for late hours & lack of sleep mapping sessions), Aki Yashiro (late nights, again), "Nationalhymne" (by Bazzooka), "The World Has Turned and Left Me Here" (by Weezer), Ego album (by Oomph!: I listened to this & "The Fragile" a lot whenever I was working on my Doom 3 mod & they work well for mapping too).

You probably figured out by that mouthful of a list that I have a vastly diverse taste in music. There's a lot more than what I already listed, but I don't wanna go overboard on the size of what's written down.

Feel free to share what music inspires, boosts & drives you when mapping for Quake. I would love to hear about it.
