So, I've jumped on a Steam Machine as I am sick of Windows (blah, blah). I'm sitting here excited on it coming but I want to chat about it so I wondered if anyone here has a Steam Machine and do they enjoy Quake on it. What flavours of Quake run well on it, Will I see the dynamic shadows that vkQuake now supports. How performant is Qrusty on the machine? Just any chat is good chat. :)

Haven't got a Steam Machine here but I run various Quake flavors on a Linux system that's about 3 years old. Its CPU and GPU are still a bit ahead of what the Steam Machine has, but not any sort of giant leap. Ironwail, vkQuake, and QrustyQuake all run at ridiculous performance. (Haven't tried vkQuake dynamic shadows yet though.)

Maybe I'm jinxing you by saying this but I don't think you have to worry?

Well, that's good to hear - especially now that there's a shiny new official episode out. To be honest, I'm hoping KEX will run a little smoother on the Steam Machine than it does on my current Windoze set up. I hear that engine doesn't really like GSync.
