Quake Brutalist Jam III

Running on linux, I get this error:

I checked and the file is there, even the case is the same
This issue (with CKDN's map) has been reported multiple times now - even in this thread - and is fixed in the coming update.
(It's also possible to patch the map file with a BSP editor if you want, which is what I did)

I really like the reaction of forum members to reviews. As soon as I (and not only me) honestly wrote about the advantages and disadvantages of the mod, my review immediately began to receive negative ratings. Only reviews consisting of a couple of phrases and laudatory odes receive positive ratings. Guys, no one has canceled freedom of speech yet. I looked at everything, evaluated everything, took the time to write my own review, but I could just give it five stars. Although I did it too. I want people to accept criticism, listen to it, and constantly improve. But I see only a negative mood and nothing else. At my job I often listen to criticism from workers, because I am a technical specialist and I need to understand what I am doing wrong so that it appears as rarely as possible. That's all I wanted to say.

People dislike your review because you made a very queerphobic statement in it. Freedom of speech is not freedom from criticism, that should be easy enough to understand. There are plenty of LGBTQ+ members in the Quake community and they for sure would not like it when someone makes statements that suggest that they should quietly go away at best or not exist at worst.

Probably the blatant unmitigated homophobia, which was not only unkind and unnecessary, but directly against the rules.

  • Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
    • No sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia and so on.
    • For this in particular, you will not receive the courtesy of a warning.

That's why people dont like all of this. It's not because they're gay or anything, but because they're so annoying everyone's already. They push their LGBT literrally everywhere, appropriately and inappropriately, and then they're surprised when people don't like it. And just try criticizing them, and you're instantly labeled a racist, a homophobe, and a Hitler. Everyone's so tired of it, but they don't understand it, which only makes things worse.

Saying something like LGBTQ+ representation is disgusting is not a critique, it's a bigoted value judgement, which is what people do not like. If you think queer people are disgusting just keep it to yourself, unless you want people to judge you for being bigoted. Easy.

you're the one pushing your bigotry onto everyone else, and then wanna act surprised and offended when a faggot kicks you in the teeth saying "fuck u, i exist". i assure you, the thing everyone is actually tired of is people like you thinking you're being polite and reasonable with your erasure and demands for silent complicity to heteronormativity. we will continue to "make things worse" specifically to make you feel unwelcome. please fuck off and die, kthx 😘

I hope you show the same outrage at any display of cisgender heterosexual relationships as well, otherwise you're just a bigoted hypocrite

I'd like to express my gratitude and appreciation for the Das Brut level.

It was a wonderful adventure, requiring attention and patience. The level plays out like Wolf Einstein and Tomb Raider—your task is to be a good explorer. I found 10 of the 16 secrets, and that's thanks to getting lost. The level is magnificent. I'd like to recommend a couple of points to its creator:

1. I would replace the invisible wall with buoys and an anti-sabotage net, which would then sink or something else would happen. (See attached image.)

2. There's a trap—watch the video. There's no escape—this can be frustrating for those who don't save. Yes, I've already been told what command to use, but I still recommend fixing this.

The level name reminded me of the wonderful film about German submariners, Das Boot. Incidentally, there's a submarine in this level.
Hey Mahonski,
I'm not sure about the specific example on zbidou's Das Brut map, but at least in other places in that map and also Annihilazor's (and others I'm sure), if you don't want to noclip you can try to surf/"glide" very slowly off of the thing you're stuck on with one of the movement keys, usually A/D.

And now back to hating on the homophobes.

I think your reaction to the few rainbows and final message was a severe overreaction, but I do agree with your point about really pointless reviews getting unneeded praise. It doesn't help anyone to look at the reviews and only see "THIS IS THE BEST MOD EVER!!!!!".

Normal people started caring, we've had enough.
again, you're going to have to explain to me where all these "normal" people are. the relatively few people i've encountered that share your opinions are universally repellant shitheads and certainly not "normal"

anyhoo none of this matters because you'll probably be banned soon and go cry about being censored or whatever

This really is the crux of it. You're saying that gay and trans people can't be normal. You say that you "tolerate" their existence, but that's all you do, you do not see them as people. You are seemingly incapable of even viewing anything related to LGBTQ individuals as anything other than "propoganda" that's being "shoved down your throat," and it all reeks of a much deeper, malicious attitude toward your fellow man based purely on a part of their very existence.
Frankly, I'm interested if these emotions are even your own, or if they've been prescribed to you by some figurehead, some authority within your life, and you simply follow.

Hi, Thx for the detailed feedback. I encountered that issue during testing and somehow forgot about it, it will be fixed in an updated version. The map's title draws from "das boot", it is a great movie, and I was actually listening to the movie's soundtrack while mapping. Adding a net and buoys is a neat idea, that will be put to good use in an upcoming map, but may be overkill for this one(players would still spend time in vain trying to get around it). I increased the density of the minefield, so it looks and feels like a minefield rather than a mere patch, and enlarged the pen walls.

Maybe you would be more at home at the doomerboards

Freedom of speech is also freedom to be criticized you are attacking minorities for representing themselves in a jam. Phrasing and likenining it people showing who they are as a criticism from your workers and what you are doing wrong reflects very poorly on your moral values.
