Persistent Echo : The Landing

Love seeing a new zbidou map, and it's nice to have one that is only moderately gigantic. :-)

One piece of feedback, if you are in the mood to tweak things for the full episode release:

After opening the watery cave with dynamite, there's a rope to climb up. It is really easy (IMO) to miss that rope! A few reasons:
- No other ropes in the map before now, so brain is not reminded to look for ropes in a Quake map.
- Rope color really blends into the wall, and lighting is dim.
- A glowing text-pad-thingy attracts attention to get you to run past the rope and jump to another rock shelf.

Now that I know it's there it's not that hidden, but it did take me quite a while to find it.

(Also this may just be a "me" thing but, when I pressed the dynamite plunger to open the cave, I guess I wasn't looking in the right direction so I wasn't even sure that it had opened that cave & that therefore that was probably the next way to go for progress.)

Anyway... smashing fun map!

Yeah I went for the episodic format this time, rather than make another behemoth. Feedback is always wellcome, I'll of course tweak the map for it re release along the rest of the episode. I am considering including triggers that give tips, the first time the player encounters a "concept", like a climbable rope, detonator or any "unusual" device that can be interacted with.

I've found all the secrets on the way but seem to be stuck at the end of the level where I need the gold keycard and cannot find it anywhere. Also there are some texture issues as on attached screenshot. Running vkQuake-1.32.3_win64

It is a plain black texture, so not an anomaly. A switch in the same room as the gold key switch opens a door that leads to NORAD, you will find the gold key there.
