Hi,
I have a 144 hz monitor and play Quake in that framerate typically, using the Ironwail source port.
60 fps video recording are choppy (understandable, since 60 and 144 don't sync), so I cap the framerate to 60 fps in Ironwail while recording. I record using the Nvidia Shadowplay. But I noticed that videos are still slightly choppy. I confirmed it by looking frame by frame, and there are double frames present in the video. So 60 fps of Ironwail and 60 fps of nvidia capture are out of sync sometimes.
What are the best options to capture smooth 60 fps gameplay? It is somewhat confusing since in addition to FPS cap, Ironwail has a video mode (which for me defaults to 144 hz), and it can't be changed to 60 hz in Borderless or Windowed mode. Should I go Fullscreen and set video mode to 60 hz? Should I keep the (separate) fps cap? What about vertical sync? I imagine some people have already figured it out for their own video recordings.
