Sinners' Ascension

The geometry of the architecture really stood out for me in this map. It felt spacious without being overwhelming. Map requires some exploration but never mazelike in nature. It looks stunning. The colors, geometry and design all fit together wonderfully. The enemies were spread out evenly, and there pacing felt natural. I always enjoy it when encounters match the design of the map. I really enjoyed the storytelling with the "Vore Master". It added something extra, which is always welcome. It's the first time I've played a standalone map by Tonhao, but after this I'm excited for more!

Great classic map that I really enjoyed. The architecture is wonderful and totally suits my taste. I found it a bit too easy throughout. Normally, I work up a sweat on skill level 2. That wasn't the case here. Now I'm looking forward to the second round and secret hunting. Thank you so much.

This is a really very good map (although I don't necessarily think it needs the "story" :D), with some excellent design in it.

I only found the secrets after completing the level (because I had inferred that the pent symbols by certain bits of lava might need you to unlock the pent in the level so you could go swimming.... but I didn't spot the way to unlock the pent until I was wandering around after beating it.). They are good secrets, but the way in which they're chained perhaps merits a slight hint to start the player off?

Well done, just well done. This map has all the classic Quake vibes with an interesting layout and challenging progression. The secrets are also very rewarding.

Here's my playthrough of the piece:

Brilliant map from start to finish and really cool secrets as well. Kudos.

I haven't enjoyed a map that much in a while, absolutely perfect. Feels like just the right size, loved the difficulty on the secrets and relation to the final battle, fantastic consistency and architecture - really first class.

Nice Level Design, but very hard to find the secret triggers (at least for me!). The Enemies being not to much of a Challenge, but nice to kill and I didn't ran out of Ammo, which is a good Sign. Unfortunately, I only found the hint how to access the weapons behind the arrow-locked entrances shortly before the end of the map, and then I went through the whole map again and couldn't do to much with the weapons anymore. It took me around 40 min of good gameplay. Well done.

First this map was confusing.
But after trying again, learning some ways, finding the first secret, it began to feel better and better.
I like this architecture.
Now reason for rating one point less, that I don't like these special monsters bedore I'm allowed to leave .... o_O

Beautiful architecture.
Quite generous with ammo and health.
I found navigation a bit confusing in places.

I got softlocked somehow. When taking the transporter up, the game asks "Did I forget something?" Hmm, did I? I only found the red armor secret, I couldn't find the LG and pent/lava secrets.

I fixed some softlocks during the map development but I hadn't really thought about this one you fell into. I'll fix it
It's obvious that one needs a pentagram to access some of the secrets. It's way less obvious how to grab it :)
A nice, medium-sized map in a classic style. I really liked it. In normal mode, it's easy and fun to complete. It's not too difficult, except for the final battle, where I ALWAYS run out of ammo and health (perhaps the solution could be to create an escape route to return to the center of the map to collect more ammo, or have it regenerate automatically). The only drawbacks I've seen (1 hour of gameplay) are that the secrets are diabolically hidden. Man, only a madman would find the way!
The detail of the "prize" for the player of being able to obtain the source code by collecting the keys to a puzzle seemed original and fun. I don't usually make levels, but I participated in the challenge.
Thanks for it.
Amazing map.
Excellent design.
Not enough dynamics in gameplay.
Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback. Honestly, I couldn't create a very detailed blockout to plan the encounters, so they were pretty scripted. I made this map while I was on vacation. There were a few moments where I had to "rush" development.
