Hello my name is Ray Frank aka 'GuideThePlayer' and I have created for you and your enjoyment a 90 minute "culinary parable" about cooking as well as level design best practices and ideas from the heart as well as Friendship / cooking tips.
This is a mod for Quake 2 remaster friends yes indeed it does require the Nightdive q2 remaster and is a single player "campaign" that will take 90 to 120 minutes to finish but keep in mind there is no vilence in this adventure (or "excursion" if you will ), simply learning about friendship and cooking and what it means to create long lasting recipes AND friendship meaningful.
I released this game in summer of last year 2024 A.D. on Itch.io but I have henceforth brought it to the "quake community" thusly and I would be pleased if you were to play it!
All the best.
INSTALLATION
After you have downLoaded the zip file you will extract it to the "/steamapps/common/Quake 2/rerelease/" folder if you are using Steam or if you are using the GOG version then the equivalent path I do not know what it is but it will end in "quake 2/rerelease/" of that I can assure you.
to discover the folder in Steam with calmness and tranquility please go to your Quake 2 game in your steam library and right click it and select Manage > browse local files
once you have installed it correctly your folder should look like following:
Quake 2 > rerelease > dinnertime
please bake sure to NOT put this mod into the baseq2 folder common mistake.
LAUNCHING
within the dinnertime folder there is a file called having_company_windows.bat, you can double click this if you are on Windows and thus your culinary journey begins.
if you are on Linux well then you may add these to your launch options in quake 2 in your steam librarey:
Right click quake 2 in your lib > under 'advanced options' enter:
+game dinnertime +exec default.cfg +map hc
ok let me know if you have any troubles
All the best.
