One of the most atmospheric maps I've played in recent memory. Great pacing/loop of exploration, discovery, combat. Extremely fun and polished. Brushwork and design are top-notch, Rubicon is great. This is why people keep coming back to Quake. Mapper is now on my list of must-plays.

Rubicon and AD work so well together. Excellent build quality and style. Map is really fun to explore and secrets were done really well. Corridor right near grenade launcher pickup was a fun visual and gameplay light moment that I enjoyed. Having some scripted natural feeling reveals like that are so good. Fun gameplay overall.

The Widowmaker shotgun makes things extremely easy though as usual being the most op weapon in AD. Sure AD has harder difficulty options to combat it thought, I'm just so used to playing on flat hard difficulty in most mods.

Progression and having a little bit of freedom where to go next was great. Loved the inclusion of jump boots and providing some sections to explore with them. Though one area which looks like a secret for it was just a completely empty extra detail room.

Good map for a new mapper. The encounters are not the best they could be — a lot of the time it was just frontal attacks without much room for maneuvering. But some encounters were really fun — specifically the big room with the rocketeers up high, and the slime pool room with that neatly placed grenadier. What made this map stand out for me personally was the presence of a whole big optional area — that's a rare thing, and I really dig it. Also Rubicon theme is ALWAYS appreciated! So in the end, it's a really solid map.

Great map with a super oppressive atmosphere. The secrets I found were all great too. I'm really looking forward to the complete episode.

I loved this map. It is indeed very spooky feeling. Leaving the player with few guns and no armour for a while adds to that as it makes them proceed cautiously.

The last encounter was quite tight for me. Not necessarily hard, but with enemies spawning around me it was hard to avoid damage. I still didn't die once.

This felt like a good intro to an episode. However, it does give you all the guns essentially, so that could be a problem.

Yes, in a sense this is an introduction to the episode. But for now I'm just learning, maybe in the future there will be a continuation or a full rework of this map... Anyway, thanks for the review!

This map was great! Every area was visually distinct so I didn't get lost, the secrets were fun to find, and it was cool revisiting areas a bit to explore with the boots. The secrets were all classics that were fun to see too. Am looking forward to future maps.

Solid map with some great secrets!

Agree that the final fight is easily cheesed, suggest
locking the doors so you can't abuse the corridors

This map is excellent, and absolutely up my alley. Loads of exploration and branching paths. Great use of the textures and theme. Only problem I saw is that the end fight is pretty easy to cheese by being a coward, but that's small stuff.

Very strong for a "first medium map"! I felt like the basics—aesthetics, gameplay flow, level progression—were all essentially faultless. Sure, it's maybe not overly ambitious or striking: a) not every map needs to be that, and b) this map does what a great medium-sized map should do very well. Good fun.

The final fight is a bit easy to cheese since you can duck into either one of the side tunnels, which I accidentally (or so I'd like to think, haha) did in the heat of combat. Ran with it since I'll take any advantage I can get, of course.
