Hey, I just played your map, and it was a lot of fun. It was also really cool to see all those colors, new shapes and forms, and the double textures.
About the deeper message of the map, I have to say: I get you completely. Antidepressants can sometimes make you feel a lot of things, but in a way that doesn't necessarily feel natural or connected to what you're actually experiencing at that moment. The music, the colors, the messages — all of it, in some way or another, felt familiar from the time I was on fluoxetine.
I really, really loved the way you used the fluoxetine bottle as part of the architecture.
I don't want to go too deeply into this because that would be a completely different topic from what this page is about, but I just want you to know that you're not alone. There are a lot of people who can relate in some way to what you're expressing here.
And I really get the cutting part. There are many different reasons why people can end up using self-destructive behaviors. Sometimes it can be because we don't know how to ask for help even though we desperately need it. Sometimes it can come from feeling numb and needing to feel something. And another reason, which is something I can personally relate to, is that it can feel like a way of reconnecting with your own body.
Just one piece of advice. Antidepressants are not for everyone, and not everyone tolerates all kinds of antidepressants. So if it feels unbearable, talk to your doctor. Don't keep it to yourself. There might be something else that can help you more than fluoxetine does. These kinds of medications are supposed to help people out of depression, so don't stick with something if it doesn't help.
So yeah, I mainly wanted to say that I get what you were trying to express, you expressed it beautifully, and I think it takes a lot of courage to put such a personal message out there through your work.
Congratulations on the map. I really enjoyed it.
