My first released Quake map. Just your usual medieval/fantasy city esque quake map. With a few dopefish!

A good first map, however it suffers from typical first map problems. Lack of health pickups, lack of ammo, too many higher tier mobs thrown at you etc.. but a good showing. Keep it up!
Good job man... strong first map. The construction is chunky, not much trim/detail, but with an eye for texture and lighting. Everything looks appropriately "Quake-y" (or more precisely, like certain early custom Quake maps) but it's all kinda pleasant and colorful in its own way.

Combat on skill 2 is fine, on the easy side but still some fun setups to blast through, with good ammo metering.

The real star of the show though is the visual variety. First, there's just a lot of different locations, all styled to look quasi-medieval-realistic. Second, this map ranks WAY high on the "making lots of different little things out of brushes" scale. From potted plants to skulls to flowers to market stalls to swords etc. etc. Almost a whole new sub-game in just seeing what will pop up next. In this throwback-ish kind of map I think that is excellent.

In terms of just technical brushwork or combat this might be a fine 3-star first map, but IMO the sheer character of all that other stuff I mentioned bumps it up another star.
I liked this, pretty good especially for a first map. Almost got stuck by the Nailgun area because I wouldn't see it. I have a gameplay video, here!

Not a bad little map! Great for a first go at mapping. I liked the small little details you made, which help to bring together the atmosphere. My only complaints is that in a couple areas it can get a little cramped, but it wasn't too bad. The knight at the spike trap can also get stuck in the doorway, so I couldn't help but cheese that bit. Hope to see more from you!
Good looking ambients. Reminds me Hexen 2. Great job!!!
