1024 Cement Mixer

Probably the best 1024 limited map I've played so far on Quake. Excellently crafted encounters. Layout with good use of space and reuse of rooms. Great use of doors and platforms that open and close. Concrete theme and custom textures working well too.

One word: Pacing



I've not experienced such perfect combat pacing in a very long while — it's seriously exhilarating and gratifying at the same time.

The environments are also interesting, being both cramped and beautiful to look at simultaneously.



This score is nothing but deserved — amazingly executed.

This was awesome fun, amazing use of space and excellent pacing! Great texture work too!

Loved it! The way the spaces are reused is really impressive - it feels gigantic though it isn't really, if that make sense. Also nice lighting!

Awesome pacing, and apart from some tiny visual quirks, it looks really good.

One critique is that there's only one secret and it's super easy to find. It would be nice to have some secret hunting. Resources were plentiful in this map, which felt great. It would be cooler to have those resources a bit more restricted, and have a few more secrets to justify it.

Still, the map gets 5 stars for being good fun and doing the 1024 limitation justice. A lot of good gameplay gets crammed into a small space. Great job.

I'll definitely be giving this another few plays.
