1024 Cement Mixer

This map was created primarly to give myself a constraint of using the 1024 size to create a more agressive punchy style of map, the textures were created by myself for this map apart from the id buttons and gravel01

The space limitations meant I leaned into the blocky concrete setting using foliage to soften it somewhat in places, while I know could keep polishing the map its in a pretty good state to call it finished I think.

Huge thanks for testing the map and providing feedback Christian, Erik, Anton, Hanna, Chris & Kev!

Loved it! The way the spaces are reused is really impressive - it feels gigantic though it isn't really, if that make sense. Also nice lighting!

Probably the best 1024 limited map I've played so far on Quake. Excellently crafted encounters. Layout with good use of space and reuse of rooms. Great use of doors and platforms that open and close. Concrete theme and custom textures working well too.

One word: Pacing

I've not experienced such perfect combat pacing in a very long while — it's seriously exhilarating and gratifying at the same time.

The environments are also interesting, being both cramped and beautiful to look at simultaneously.

This score is nothing but deserved — amazingly executed.

This is a very compact map filled with enemies. It was fun. Well done!

Excellent usage of space. Adore all of the foliage sprinkled about, love the quick + violent pacing.

One of the most intense non-stop action map I ever played. I am even glad it's small 1024, because I doubt I could take it any longer. In its niche this map is perfect, no complaints at all; encounters, layout, visuals, traps, literally everything is polished to the top. The only personal subjective complaint is non-stop combat - I prefer it Valve way with switch of pacing, bigger pauses in between encounters, switch of type of activities. But that's subjective - I know. I suppose some players love it exactly the way it is now - non-stop action. Either way I follow the author from now on - I am really curious what they would make next
