Work in Progress: What are you mapping?

Working on the art for map 4/5 in an episode I'm working on, planning to release all 5 maps at once sometime maybe around september/october
Looking cool! I'd suggest checking out some of the runic textures in the machinegames Dimension of the Machine wad. Particularly, they remade some of the classic textures in a larger 128x128 resolution. The metal4_4 bands you have on those giant walls would tile much nicer with the increased texture size.

Nice map. Very pretty, and I thought the doom-style keys were interesting. I thought the combat was also really nicely layered. I got the gold key very soon after the silver key, so for a while I was unlocking new areas constantly without much sense of purpose. I guess a bigger final fight would've been nice. In terms of actual issues, the only thing I noticed was with this outdoor area showing the void.

Very nice looking map, especially the room that has the jump boots in it. I really like how the layout gradually opens up and interconnects as you find the boots and the silver and gold keys to open their respective doors. I did get lost for a little bit because I missed one of the gold doors, but I think that was just me being scatterbrained.

First playthrough demo here (recorded in Ironwail, but works in regular QS for me as well).

I agree with h4724 that the ending could be a bit more climactic, but other than that I have zero complaints. Didn't encounter any bugs either. About to go back in to try and find all secrets now. Thank you very much for sharing!

My Coppertone Summer Jam 2 map. Unfortunately, my new work schedule has given me less time to make levels than I would like, so I'm gonna try to art this one a bit differently than I've done with previous maps. My plan is to make like 30-35 rock prefabs and art most of the map with those, then I'll go in to make necessary adjustments afterwards.

Will it work out for me? Tune in next week to find out! Same bat-time, same bat-channel.

I'm doing some particularly mean stuff for my map. Can't wait for reactions.
Also starting on the start map, probably going to do some 3D models of surf-boards that you use to enter the maps, or something just as silly as that.

I'd been sitting on this one since I missed the deadline for Snack Pack 2, so now I intend to finish it for Coppertone 2. Gonna be a tight layout with brutal combat, and more than just that one spawn ;)

I'm starting to wish I had a nice cool underground retreat to escape the heat with this summer...

My commented gameplay is in the demo. A very enjoyable and intense map on nightmare. Certainly didn't feel like a draft to me. 😁

Shouldn't these WIP versions be uploaded to the map downloads section, btw? You can upload your map there, even if it's not done yet. You just mark it as WIP and give it a version number below 1.0, right?

I think for Downloads it's not proper. But some Playtesting thread could be useful. imo

Cool stuff. Is it Sock's Egyptian? Looks like that but turned into gloomy cold runic stylistically
 
Thanks for your demos H4724, Esrael and AwakeOnPhobos, i've seen a lot of small things wrong with the map and will continue to improve it.
I'll move the testing requests to a proper thread in the future.
I've downloaded the map but haven't played it yet. Would you like me to wait for a future update since you already got a batch of demos? So I can give you a fresh blind playthrough.

WIP iterations on my copper tone summer jam 2 map

big tree with creepy faces, going for some elden ring vibes... faces are courtesy of Obj2Map / OpenGameArt, I didn't hand-build them

still trying to figure out the ground area below, which is more halo inspired

the first map I've made that needed bsp2!
